Down Home Veterinary Services was founded by Samantha Nelson, a dedicated advocate for responsible breeding and canine health. With over a decade of hands-on experience in the breeding world, Samantha understands the critical role that health testing plays in building strong, ethical programs.

 

Her passion lies in helping fellow breeders elevate their programs through accessible, affordable, and accurate health screenings. From OFA certifications to PennHIP evaluations and genetic testing, Samantha’s goal is to take the guesswork out of breeding and give breeders the tools they need to make informed decisions.

 

Through her years of experience, Samantha has built strong relationships with leading experts in veterinary medicine, radiology, and canine genetics, many of whom have now partnered with her to ensure every detail of the testing process runs smoothly and efficiently.
